FINDING A COMMON THREAD
This week on the blog we hear from Primary. We recently worked with Primary on a Custom Garment Partnership and below is their more about their story, the collaboration, and how Primary created social impact through Canadian made garments.
Everyone has that one piece of company swag that lives in the bottom of their dresser. Whether it’s a golf shirt or ball cap, chances are you wore it once for a corporate function and then forgot about it. This summer, Primary Engineering and Construction was looking for swag that was top-drawer, something that was comfortable, practical, and, above all, stylish.
That’s why we partnered with Connor Curran and his team at Local Laundry on a line of custom crewneck sweatshirts. Our company was fresh from a major rebranding. We wanted something that our team (including engineers, project managers, designers, tradespeople, technicians, and support staff) would wear with pride and not stuff in the back of their closet. These sweatshirts can be worn in all seasons and all kinds of weather, from visits to the jobsite to dinner out with family and friends.
We wanted to partner on pullovers that reflect the same characteristics of our team: quality, dependability, and durability. Connor kindly sent us some options to try out, and we were blown away by how comfortable they were. Made with organic cotton and bamboo blend, these sweatshirts are stylish and comfortable. Tastefully emblazoned with our logo on the front and back, they have quickly become the go-to item for our Primary team. Most importantly, they are proudly made in Canada.
Our collaboration wasn’t just about ordering a sweatshirt but about working with an organization that shares many of our same values. We both believe in building communities and supporting local companies. We both support local labour and procuring local resources whenever possible.
As a company with nearly 300 team members across Canada, Primary believes in powering our people, clients, and communities. Our team proudly wears these sweatshirts in our ten corporate offices and in the remote towns we serve. From Christina Lake, British Columbia., to Drayton Valley, Alberta, to Waldheim, Saskatchewan, to Flin Flon, Manitoba, we want to leave communities with a lasting impression.

These sweatshirts will follow us to hundreds of new communities as we look to expand across Canada. Fashion designer Rachel Zoe once said, “style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” We feel our sweatshirts say a lot about our company, our people and what we stand for.
